Let’s help dry the tears
Together with other prominent IT product and service providers, Tempest is helping the people affected by the devastating flooding. Please join us.
A voluntary collection is currently underway among Tempest’s more than 200 employees. Employees may contribute to urgent humanitarian aid to people who have lost the comfort of their homes due to the floods. The company will make a financial contribution to match the sum gathered by employees. We will pass the full proceeds to the People in Peril (Človek v ohrození) civic association’s SOS Povodne fund.
Please join them yourself, and contribute via bank transfer to account number 2663032001/1100 (transaction description SOS Povodne, variable symbol 1111).
“The idea of involving Slovakia’s IT community in providing relief toward the consequences of the destructive flooding greatly pleases me. Since the first days, People in Peril and its partner organisation, People in Need Slovakia (Člověk v tísni Slovensko), have been involved in a number of activities in the Spiš, Šariš and Zemplín regions. For example, our volunteers are cleaning and repairing a school in Richnava; we are distributing hygienic and cleaning supplies, pumps and dehumidifiers and we are helping coordinate humanitarian organisations and government bodies so as to minimise the risk of duplicated effort. The aftermath of the flooding is so enormous that these activities will certainly require additional weeks and months in the field, as well as logistical support. Therefore, we most appreciate your support, will make use of it responsibly and will provide you information as to how it is being used on an ongoing basis,” said Andrej Bán, chairman of People in Peril.
“We sympathise with the people who have been affected by this destructive flooding. I believe that we can help them alleviate the damage and that they will be able to return to their homes quickly. I am pleased that in just a few days we already have more than 60 donors among our staff and have collected nearly €2,000. Once the collection is over, the company will make a contribution to match the sum donated by employees,” added Peter Krásny, Tempest’s managing director.
Tempest developed the idea to involve its employees and to join forces with other leaders in the IT industry. In addition to Tempest, ArrowECS, Avnet Technology Solutions and Datalan are now also involved in the project.
